History and vision
Back in January 2001, when the first event took place at the newly built GOSPEL FORUM in Feuerbach, no one would have thought that in just a few years this spiritual center would have such a strong impact beyond the borders of Stuttgart. Over several decades, the GOSPEL FORUM has developed considerably and continues to build upon its ever-evolving programs and ministries. Today, in addition to the main campus in Stuttgart-Feuerbach, multiple programs, projects, and ministries in the regions surrounding Stuttgart, Germany, and in many other countries around the world have their beginnings in this growing Christian church.
A major goal of the GOSPEL FORUM is to rediscover the roots and mystery of the life of the first Christians, and to integrate these in the 21st century into our everyday life in order to influence society in a positive way. Every person should have a chance, at least once in his lifetime, to hear and understand the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. Our passion is that more and more people open themselves to the love of God. All activities of the GOSPEL FORUM are tied to this great goal.
The Holy Spirit has given us goals to strive for in each key area of our lives: God, ourselves, our church, and our society.
1. Exalt God
Each of us has a great desire to love God more and more, to glorify Him, and to make Him our number one priority in life. This doesn’t happen only at church or in the home fellowship groups, but also in everyday life. A life full of praise, gratitude, and love for the Lord is our purpose in life.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. (Matthew 22:37)
2. Spiritual maturity
Personal spiritual growth is important. This is why we encourage mature, authentic Christianity at all times. All services and programs of the church serve this goal.
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! (2 Peter 3:18)
We see ourselves as a spiritual family. We therefore want to live in true fellowship, similar to the first Christians in the early church (as in the Greek term “koinonia”). God gave us the idea for the house churches, or “home fellowship groups.” This is a place of comfortable, profound, and natural fellowship where we share in each others’ everyday lives, show each other mutual respect and appreciation, and offer assistance.
Living in fellowship
- Small Groups
They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common. (Acts 2:42,44)
4. Relevance in society
We have firmly resolved, with the help and leading of the Holy Spirit, to try and impact every aspect of our society in a positive way with God’s love. This is done first of all by living an authentic Christian life, and then by proclaiming what we ourselves have received as a blessing and help from God.
In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you! (Matthew 7:12)
